Facebook Cracking Down On Photos Deemed “Too Sexy”

MENLO PARK, California –

First, Facebook upset drag queens when they tried to halt them from using stage names. Now they are going after women who push modeling photos too far.

Many women reported photos being deleted from their albums over the weekend.

“I had a really beautiful photo album of me in different bikinis,” Amanda Weeks said. “In one photo I was holding my bare breasts, deleted. In another, I had on a skimpy g-string which they deleted. Others in my album weren’t removed. Just these. This isn’t fair. Facebook shouldn’t control how I share my body with friends.”

Sources say Facebook employs an army of moderators who have been instructed to crackdown on content deemed “too sexy” or “provocative” on personal Facebook pages. This does not affect fan pages. Parameters appear to include a ban on g-strings, bare breasts or holding bare breasts and any photos that draw attention to the genitals or show a sex position.

“I had a yoga picture of me in a bikini with my ankles behind my head. They removed it, ” another Facebook user reported. “It was yoga! I wasn’t drawing attention to my genitals!”

“One thing that’s not fair is that it seems to only be affecting female models,” Weeks said. “Not one male model I know has had a photo removed. My friend John has one of him squeezing his junk with no underwear on. Sure, you can’t see his sex organs, but how is that any different from me covering my bare breasts? This is not only a stupid policy, but sexist.”

Facebook has not made an official statement about their updated TOS, but the removal of photos is beginning to draw major heat from users.
